As a Fleet & Equipment Technician III, you will repair vehicles and equipment to keep vehicles and equipment ready for use, you will diagnosis and repair all fleet trucks and DOT equipment. Heavy Equipment, Tractors & Minor Equipment Repair - testing, replacing, or rebuilding as needed; Troubleshoot and repair; cooling, electrical, steering systems, brakes, gear boxes, clutches, hydraulics, transmissions, engine repair gas and diesel, differentials, hydrostatic drive transmission, antilock and air brake trailers, and electronic instrument cluster. Shop Maintenance and Recordkeeping - maintain tools and shop area, fill out time sheets accurately, use Fleet Focus system, check and report accident hazards.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for this position as a Fleet and Equipment III, you must have a Class A Driver License, completed a two-year curriculum in automotive or diesel/industrial equipment technology, and 2 years of work experience performing duties similar in type and complexity as those listed in the .Completion of a three-year master technology program and one year of work experience performing duties listed in the can substitute for the 2-year curriculum and 2 years of experience.Work experience performing duties similar in type and complexity to those to be performed on vehicles and equipment like those to be serviced may be substituted for the educational requirement of the basis of one year of work experience for one year of education. As an Equipment Operator, you will perform highway, roadway, and structure maintenance. This includes operating heavy equipment to perform required maintenance duties like basic snow and ice control/removal. You will complete highway maintenance duties, which include assisting in installing, repairing, and maintaining highway signs and guardrails. As a Temporary Maintenance Technician, you will perform highway, roadway, and structure maintenance. You will complete highway maintenance duties, which include roadway repairs, assisting in installing, repairing, and maintaining highway signs and guardrails. To complete these tasks and others assigned, you will operate power tools and other equipment to perform maintenance duties. Part of this job is to keep the roadways clear of any hazards, this includes litter, waste, debris, garbage. Assisting with traffic control setup and flagging will also be required.You will also be required to complete building and ground maintenance duties, such as tree trimming, mowing, painting, fence repair, gutter/downspout cleaning. As well as assisting with inventory tracking/storage. You will also perform minor preventive and repair maintenance on vehicles and equipment, parts runs, and assisting in the shop.An important part of this position and the culture at the NDDOT is to maintain a safe working environment for yourself, your coworkers, and others.

Minimum Qualifications

Valid North Dakota Class D drivers license.Employment of the selected candidate will be contingent on satisfactorily completing the interview process and the required medical screening and reference check.
