How long does my adjuster have to make a decision on my claim?
WSI needs to receive all essential paperwork before a decision can be made. Our goal is to make a decision as quickly as possible.
How is it determined which claims adjuster is assigned to my claim?
Claims adjusters are assigned to a particular employer that has North Dakota workers compensation coverage.
Do I need prior approval from WSI before I have surgery?
Yes, your medical provider will need to contact WSI’s utilization department for prior approval.

I was injured in North Dakota, can I go back to my home state to recover and treat?
Yes, however you must notify your claims adjuster prior to leaving North Dakota.
Can I meet with my claims adjuster in person?
Yes, you may call your claims adjuster to schedule an appointment time.
Can I treat with my regular medical provider?
First ask your employer if they have a designated medical provider (DMP) to handle their work-related injuries. If they do not, you may treat with your regular medical provider.
