The Decision Review Office provides assistance to workers who have filed a claim. This may include:
- Acting on behalf of an injured worker disagreeing with a decision
- Communicating with WSI staff about claim resolution
- Informing an injured employee of the effect of claim decisions

When WSI makes a formal decision it mails an administrative order. The order explains the decision to pay or deny benefits. If you disagree with the order, you can request a review by the Decision Review Office (DRO) within 45 days of the date of the decision. Reasons you may want to request a review:
- It is free of charge
- You do not want to hire a lawyer
- It is much faster than litigation
- It is a neutral process
- You may continue your appeal if not satisfied with the result
- The DRO certificate of completion provides for WSI payment of an initial legal consultation and payment of attorney fees if prevailing in litigation
