Permanent Partial Impairment (PPI)

PPI is a benefit that results from a permanent physical loss of a body part or function because of a compensable work-related injury.

  • A PPI award is separate from any other benefits you may be entitled to, assuming you meet the criteria used to determine PPI eligibility
  • You may be eligible for a PPI assessment once you reach maximum medical improvement - the point at which no further treatment is expected to improve your condition
  • PPI benefits are awarded only if your full-body impairment meets or exceeds the statutory minimum impairment
