WSI has published a new medical documentation policy related to Neuromuscular Reeducation (CPT® code 97112). The purpose of this policy is to establish clear medical documentation requirements to support appropriate reimbursement for Neuromuscular Reeducation services.
The new policy includes information on the following:
- Definition of Neuromuscular Reeducation
- Documentation criteria required for reimbursement
- Detailed examples of appropriate documentation
If documentation does not meet the criteria outlined in the policy, WSI will deny reimbursement for CPT® 97112.
Providers are encouraged to review related WSI documentation policies, including Physical and Occupational Therapy Documentation and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Time‑Based Services, to ensure compliance.
