- Explain the purpose of workers’ compensation and how the claim process works.
- Encourage employees to report workplace injuries promptly.
- Explain that knowingly providing false or misleading information may constitute workers' compensation fraud.

Respond Consistently
Respond promptly and consistently when an accident or injury is reported.
- Document the circumstances surrounding the incident.
- Obtain statements from the injured employee and available witnesses.
- Review whether the reported details are consistent.
- Preserve relevant records, photos, video, or other information.
- Follow the same review process for similar incidents.
Stay Connected
Regular communication can help employers understand the employee’s recovery, work restrictions, and return-to-work options.
- Stay in contact with the injured employee.
- Confirm that job duties and injury information have been communicated accurately.
- Understand the employee’s medical restrictions.
- Identify suitable return-to-work opportunities when available.
- Communicate with the designated medical provider when appropriate and permitted.

Report suspected fraud
