Medical Provider Billing
Agency News

WSI has recently seen an increase in bills denied for non-compliance with the Definitive Drug Testing policy. In accordance with North Dakota Administrative Rule, WSI implemented this policy in 2018. The policy requires a provider perform definitive drug testing following a positive presumptive test for non-prescribed opioids and/or illicit drugs. If a provider neglects or refuses to do the definitive testing, WSI will deny all charges associated with the initial encounter, including the ER visit, hospital stay, surgery, or other procedures.
