Effective January 1, 2022, WSI will deny medical bills received in paper format from a practice that submits at least 50 bills per calendar year. WSI’s requirement for a provider to submit both medical bills and supporting documentations electronically has been effective since July 1, 2021, as communicated in previous provider notifications. 

WSI will be sending letters to practices identified as currently submitting paper bills and meet the minimum threshold of submitting 50 bills per calendar year 

A practice must establish either a direct or indirect EDI connection to WSI’s exclusive vendor, Carisk Intelligent Clearinghouse. 

  • To establish a direct EDI connection, contact Carisk by email at cicinfo@cariskpartners.com or by phone at 888-238-4792.  

  • If a practice currently uses a clearinghouse other than Carisk, contact that clearinghouse to check if an indirect connection is possible.
