Massage Therapy Coverage Changes Effective March 1, 2016

Effective March 1, 2016, WSI will implement changes regarding the coverage of massage therapy treatment.

WSI will continue to allow massage therapy as an active modality only when performed by a physical therapist, occupational therapist, or chiropractor. WSI will no longer approve massage therapy performed by a licensed massage therapist. 

WSI will reimburse for massage therapy treatment covered under existing prior authorization approvals that extend beyond March 1, 2016.
