In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, WSI has made changes to business practices involving medical services. These changes are effective as of March 24, 2020. While many of WSI's employees have transitioned to working remotely, the expectation is for business to continue with minimal disruptions; however, below are areas where a medical provider may see changes.
Utilization Review
-
WSI will fax all recommendations, regardless of the preferred method of communication selected on the UR-C or UR-Chiro form.
-
A provider registered with myWSI may continue to access the recommendation online.
-
WSI will waive the 90-day timeframe for surgery approvals.
Pharmacy
-
WSI will require a provider utilize the Provider’s Request for Medication Prior Authorization (M11) form for a medication prior authorization. Fax the completed M11 with any supporting documentation to the number located at the bottom of the form.
Payment Processing
-
WSI will continue to issue checks weekly. Current turnaround time for a billed charge is approximately 40 days. Delays due to COVID-19 are not anticipated. In the event unforeseen interruptions occur, WSI will notify providers as soon as possible.
