Mountrail McKenzie Human Service Zone partners with the Department of Health and Human Services to deliver exceptional Economic Assistance programs to our community. The Eligibility Support Specialist assists the Economic Assistance team through administrative, programmatic, and client support. This position works with Economic Assistance programs including Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), Health Care Coverage, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Low-Income Energy Assistance, Child Care Assistance, Healthy Steps and General Assistance. Program training is provided for this position. Eligibility Support Specialist - Example of Duties:Assist client in front-desk lobby environmentPrepare general correspondenceOrganize and maintain office records, filing systems, and general office procedure by scanning into the computer system that will then process the documentsAssemble and distribute program information, applications, forms, reports, and other materials to clientsReview, input, and retrieve data from various databases and computer system To succeed in this position, you should have strong administrative, collaboration and communication skills, the ability to scan documents. An ideal candidate for this position will be organized and able to communicate effectively with diverse populations. You will have an eye for detail, be able to manage your time and priorities effectively and pride yourself on excellent communication skills, empathy, and being a team player.You will have a passion for helping others and making a difference in our community. Minimum Qualifications

This position requires a high school diploma or GED - plus - one (1) of the following:Completion of the Eligibility Worker one-year certificate programCompletion of 90 semester hours or 135 quarter hours of a bachelor's degree programThree (3) years of work experience involving processing of claims, loans, financial eligibility benefits, credit reviews, abstracts, taxes, or housing assistance, or working in the clerical, accounting, bookkeeping, legal, financial, business, teaching, investments/financial planning, computer/data processing fieldsThree (3) years of any combination of education and experience listed above

This is an Eligibility Worker II - Lead Worker position for Group 1. Essential functions of this position is to determine eligibility and ongoing benefits which may include working with multiple economic assistance programs. Provide initial and ongoing training, onboarding new employees, answer policy and system questions, coach and consult on complex issues , review work for timeliness and accuracy. This position assesses and analyzes a client's circumstances and financial capabilities to determine initial and continued eligibility of applicants and recipients by interpreting and applying complex state, federal and county policies, process applications and maintain a caseload, establish an electronic case file, perform necessary actions relating to fraud and appeals, attend training sessions and workshops and other duties as assigned by the agency. A high level of verbal and written communication skills are also required. Computer literacy and regular attendance at work is imperative.
