The program consists of 16 lifesaving initiatives to ensure that “everyone goes home safe.” This video includes stories of North Dakota firefighters in real situations. This video focuses on health and wellness, getting enough rest, being physically fit, using PPE, seat belts, staying hydrated, building situational awareness before arriving on scene. One factor to take into account is weather – look at the Rangeland Fire Danger Index as well as predicted weather; terrain; topography; fuel types, etc. Leadership is instrumental to a firefighter’s success.
