Welcome to the WSI Loss Control News section on the new website.  Our goal with this news section is to provide you with Loss Control updates, resources and tips for implementation of WSI Loss Control initiatives and also any safety information may help you keep current with safety information such as new technology and changes to regulations.

With this introductory article we would like to introduce the Loss Control Department at WSI.

Ergonomics

Ergonomics is the science of fitting the work to the worker where as an ergonomic injury refers to soft tissue injury to excessive force and repetition.   Approximately 35% of all WSI claims are classified as ergonomic related which is why WSI has programs that focus on ergonomic claims.  The ergonomics area of Loss Control helps to provide employers with ergonomic resources including the WSI Ergonomics Initiative and Grant Program.

Education and Special Projects

The training area provides the administration of the WSI Learning Management System, Video resource library, grant administration and other projects to promote safety and provide to training to WSI customers. Awareness of safety hazards is one of the key ways for a safety work environment. WSI Loss Control’s Education Department can assist an employer in developing comprehensive safety training for employees.

Safety Consulting

WSI provides Safety Consultants that are available for all customers, there are fifteen safety consultants including supervisors located throughout the state.  Safety Consultants are available to provide services for all customers.  Safety Consultants also assist customers that enroll in the WSI Safety Incentive Programs.

Through this combination of services WSI Loss Control is able to provide customers with safety services that are needed to assist you in developing a safe workplace.
