State of ND Seeks Employer Feedback to Address Workforce Shortage

June 2018

As recently announced by Governor Burgum and Labor Commissioner and Job Service ND Executive Director Michelle Kommer, the North Dakota Workforce Council (WDC), along with the State of North Dakota and the Greater North Dakota Chamber of Commerce, are hosting a survey to ask the state’s employers about their most pressing workforce needs.

This is a massive grassroots campaign inviting every employer in the state to contribute their critical input. It’s a lofty goal, but there is no better way to get to the root of our workforce issues than asking those who juggle them every day.

The survey, which is open through June 15, is available here, as well as linked from www.governor.nd.gov and www.ndchamber.com.

The Center for the Study of Public Choice and Private Enterprise and NDSU will analyze the results. The Council will then prioritize the state’s most critical needs, as measured by economic impact, community health and vitality, and connection to the administration’s strategic initiatives. Their recommendations will go to Governor Doug Burgum for his policy agenda ahead of the upcoming legislative session.
