ICD-10 Implementation Update

June 2015

Beginning October 1, 2015, WSI will transition from the use of ICD-9 to ICD-10 for diagnosis and procedure codes in alignment with federal regulations.

Although there have been previous delays in the implementation of ICD-10, WSI reminds all providers that we will follow the timeframe set by CMS. Providers must bill WSI for all health care services provided on or after October 1, 2015 with ICD-10 diagnosis and procedure codes. WSI will continue to accept ICD-9 for health care services provided before October 1, 2015 after implementation of ICD-10.
