Reasons to implement a Safety Committee

  • They play an important role in demonstrating a good safety culture
  • Committees allow everyone in the company to have a voice about potential hazards, safety concerns, and problems happening in your facility
  • Employees who are not on the committee are able to voice their concerns and opinions to a committee member. That committee member is then responsible to take those concerns back to the committee for comment

  • Decisions made by majority vote

  • Perform committee duties
  • Serve for at least one year
  • Provide training for members
