Educational Services

The concern was expressed that the standard medical providers are pretty good to work with but once an employee is referred to a specialist, the lines of communication tend to decline.

Workforce Safety and Insurance (WSI) held multiple Disability Prevention Summit sessions in 2007. A primary goal was to show the employer and medical providers how critical their joint cooperation will benefit everyone involved and ensure a timely return to work for the employee. WSI is using recommendations received during these sessions to achieve this goal.

A suggestion was made for a comment section in our website video library for users. This would give WSI suggestions on whether the material fit the need and provide future users more information about the video.

Educational Services has submitted this request which will be integrated as a feature of our online Learning Management System in 2008. In the meantime a short survey is being sent with our video/dvds to obtain some customer feedback.

A request was made for a training video on education of safety committee members and their roles in a business.

WSI currently has a video resource library, located at www.workforcesafety.com and by selecting the green Safety tab, and clicking on the video resource library you will see our listing of video's by subject. If you select Supervisory Training, you'll find a video entitled Safety Success for Safety Teams and Committees-VLSUP-011. If this video doesn't meet your needs or you need additional assistance, please call (701)328-3886 or 1-800-440-3796 Ext. 8-3886. We have over 590 video/dvd's available for checkout and free of charge to our employers and look forward to assisting you.

A request for some cultural behavior Safety Training was suggested.

Educational Services held a series of seminars on this subject throughout the state. The dates, times and locations for all future trainings can be found on the website (www.workforcesafety.com). If you select the green Safety tab, click on Upcoming Events, Calendar and leave the window pre-set for all categories, you'll find the information.

Another employer requested that for any future classes we identify the level of knowledge a person should have when considering taking the class. It was felt this will assist them in making a good decision on what to sign up for.

Educational Services will be providing as much detail in the description of all future classes or trainings to assist people with these decisions.
