Fall 2007 Stay-at-Work/Return-to-Work Workshops
During September 2007 Workforce Safety & Insurance sponsored a series of workshops around the state, featuring Dr. Jennifer Christian and the newly adopted ACOEM Work Disability Prevention Guideline titled “Preventing Needless Disability by Helping People Stay Employed.” Dr. Christian is one of the authors of this guideline and sponsor of the 60 Summit project.
The 60 Summit Project is taking a grass-roots approach to transforming disability benefits and worker’s compensation systems and the outcomes they produce. The project is to have summit meetings in all 50 states and 10 Canadian provinces on the topic of improving how the stay-at-work and return-to-work (SAW/RTW) process works. North Dakota was one of four states to be in the forefront sponsoring a summit, bringing employers and providers together for round table discussions. The following report from the four workshops held around the state is posted below, along with ACOEM’s full Disability Prevention Guideline.
WSI thanks all those who took time away from their busy schedules to participate and make these workshops a success.
